How do I stop responses being submitted anonymously?
Choose a sharing method that records the responder’s identity:
- Specific access link requires Microsoft 365 sign-in and granted access, and records the signed-in identity.
- Anyone links can require email verification, which records the verified email as the response’s creator email. Without verification, responses through those links are anonymous.
Share the specific access link
Section titled “Share the specific access link”- Open the form’s … menu and select Share.
- Select Specific access link (the default).
- Review Manage access. Team Owners can enable Everyone in your organization or use View and edit access to grant access to people and groups.
- Select Link → Copy link and distribute it.
Review existing Anyone links
Section titled “Review existing Anyone links”Switching to Specific access link does not disable existing Anyone links. Under Anyone links, enable email verification for each link you intend to keep, or use its Delete icon and confirm deletion to revoke it.
Email verification requires Pro, Premium, or Enterprise. On Free, Anyone links open without verification even if settings were previously saved. If sign-in is required, distribute the specific access link and delete unwanted Anyone links.
