Dynamically set the PDF file name in emails

The built-in email notification feature allows you to include a PDF copy of the response as an attachment. This feature is enabled by default and can be toggled on or off via the Email tab in the form builder. You can customize the attached PDF’s filename to include dynamic content from user responses by following these steps:

  1. Open the Email Tab

    • Navigate to the Email tab in the form builder.

    • Enable PDF Attachments

  2. Scroll to the bottom and locate the toggle switch labeled “Include PDF attachment.”

    • Ensure this option is enabled to attach the PDF to the email notification.

  3. Customize the PDF File Name

    • To the right of the toggle, you’ll see a PDF icon and a label showing the default filename. Click on the label to modify it.

    • Enter a static title or type ”/” to insert dynamic fields (responses from the form) into the filename.

This allows you to personalize the attached PDF’s name, making it easier to organize and identify responses.

It's important to note that modifying the PDF file name in the email notifications does not change the name of the PDF file stored in SharePoint. For details on how to modify the file name/location of the PDF stored in SharePoint, please refer to this article.
