What Is a Publish Comment?

A simple way to track your form’s changes over time

Updated over 2 weeks ago

When you publish a form, you’ll be prompted to include an optional publish comment.

This comment is saved in the form’s version history and acts as a note to help you identify what changed in that version. It’s especially useful if you ever need to:

  • Roll back to a previous version

  • Audit changes made over time

  • Understand the reason behind an update

Your publish comment will appear alongside the version entry when you view the Version History dialogue. This way, you can quickly see not only when a change was made, but also the context behind it—without having to open and compare versions manually.

ℹ️ Best practice: Even though it’s optional, it’s highly recommended to always include a publish comment. A brief note can save you time later and make it easier for your team to understand the form’s change history.
