How can I make responses anonymous?

Sharing your form in a way that keeps responders anonymous

Updated over 3 weeks ago

If you’d like to collect responses without identifying who submitted them, you can make your form anonymous by generating a public share link. When a form is accessed via a public link, it is opened anonymously—meaning there is no way to track or identify the responder.

How to create an anonymous (public) link

  1. Locate your form

Hover over the form you wish to share. This will reveal a “…” (more options) icon.

  2. Open the share options

Click the “…” icon, then select Share.

  3. Choose the public link option

In the share dialogue, you will see options for sharing with Team Members or with Anyone.

    • Click the Anyone tab.

    • Generate a new link.

  4. Distribute the link

Share this “Anyone” link with your audience. Anyone who accesses the form through this link will be able to respond anonymously.

💡 Tip: Only responses submitted through the “Anyone” link are anonymous. If users access the form from within their Microsoft 365 environment (for example, via a Team Members link), their identity may still be visible.
