Granting consent for users in my organization

Lets explore how you can grant consent

When user logins in for the first time, Team Forms will request permissions to access the minimum resources needed for the application to run. In the majority of cases, the user can grant this consent and proceed to use Team Forms. However, in some organizations the user consent for applications setting is disabled. In this situation the user will see one of the options show below and will need to request for the application to be allowed by their internal IT department. This article will guide IT administrators on how to grant this permission.

Approval required or Need Admin Approval Prompt

The exact options steps needed to grant consent for Team Forms to run will depend on your Microsoft 365 tenant settings. Please choose the option below that match your organization.

Option 1 - Admin Login

The simplest option for granting consent is to simply login to Team Forms as an administrator of your organization and make sure you tick "Consent on behalf of my organization" as part of logging in for the first time.

  1. Open Team Forms by navigating to https://web.teamforms.app

  2. Click the Sign In button

  3. When you reach the permission steps of the sign in process, please ensure you tick consent on behalf of my organization as shown below.

If you have previously logged into Team Forms you will no longer get a prompt to consent, in this case please proceed to option 2 below.

Option 2 - Consent in the Azure Portal

If you have previously logged into Team Forms you will no longer get a prompt to consent on behalf of your organization as outlined in Option 1. Therefore it is recommended that you use the steps outlined below instead:

  1. Login to the azure portal

  2. Navigate to Enterprise Applications, locate and navigate to Team Forms in the list

  3. Click permissions on the side navigation bar

  4. Click the "Grant admin consent" button

Note if your organisation has admin consent workflows enabled and a user has already requested consent you may need to also approve this request by following the steps in option 3 below.

Option 3 - Approve Admin Consent Request

If you organization has the Admin consent workflow enabled then users will see the option to request approval and provide justification for the use of Team Forms. In this case you can grant consent by following the steps outlined below:

  1. Login to the azure portal

  2. Navigate to Enterprise Applications

  3. Click permissions on Admin consent requests on the side navigation bar

  4. Locate the request for Team Forms and select it

  5. Click review permissions and consent
