How to Find the Underlying SharePoint File or List for a Data Source

Easily identify which SharePoint list, Excel file, or document library is connected to a Team Forms data source

Datasources are a powerful feature within Team Forms that allow you to use SharePoint lists, Excel Online files, and SharePoint documents to automatically populate dropdown menus and other dynamic fields within your forms.

However, as your list of datasources grows, it can sometimes become difficult to remember which SharePoint list or file a datasource is connected to. To help with this, Team Forms allows you to quickly open and identify the underlying SharePoint file or list associated with any datasource.

To do this:

  1. Open the Form Builder screen for any form.

  2. Click the ”…” context menu in the top-right corner.

  3. Select “Datasources” to open the datasource management screen for the team.

  4. Locate the datasource you want to investigate, then click the ”…” icon next to it.

  5. Click “View in SharePoint”.

If you have preview environments configured for your datasource, you will also have the option to choose which environment you want to open.
