Component permissions let you control who can see or answer certain questions in a form. This is especially useful for things like multi-step forms that need input from different team members.
Here’s how to set it up:
Open the component settings for the question (or section) you want to control.
In the Display tab, choose to have it hidden or disabled by default.
Then go to the Permissions tab. Here you can make exceptions by giving access to specific users. There are three permission types you can assign (see the table below for details).
You can also use the “Creator Permissions” option to give access only to the person who originally started or submitted the form.
Permission | Description |
Edit | Edit component permissions will allow the specified user to see and response to the specific component/question |
View | View component permissions will allow the specified user to see the component/questions. However, the component will be disabled to prevent the user from responding to the specific question. |
Hidden | Hidden will prevent the user from seeing the question entirely. |
⚠️ Unlike form/response permissions the component level permissions to not currently support groups. We expect to add support for managing component level permissions with groups in a future release.
