Grouping allows you to categorize your forms list by creating distinct headings based on specific properties. By tagging your forms with custom data, you can transform a cluttered list into an organized, scannable workspace.
Step 1: Tag Your Forms with Metadata
Before you can group your forms, you need to "tag" them with specific data points. Metadata fields are separate from the questions inside your form; they are properties you set on the form itself.
Navigate to your Forms List.
Hover over the form you want to categorize and click the Tag Icon.
In the popup, you will see the option to add or update Metadata Fields.
Add your fields based on how you want to organize (e.g., Category, Department, or Project).
Enter the specific value for that form and save.
Step 2: Create a Custom View
Once your forms are tagged, you need to create a view that recognizes those tags.
Click the Settings Icon (gear icon) located toward the top right of the dashboard.
Select Create New Custom View.
Note: You must have Owner permissions to create and manage custom views.
Give your new view a name.
Step 3: Group by Your Tags
The final step is to tell the system which data point to use for the layout.
In the view settings, click the "Group By" option.
Select the Metadata Field you added in Step 1.
Save your view.
Your forms list will now be automatically sorted into groups based on the data you tagged them with!
