How to access your teams settings

Lets explore how you open the teams settings dialogue

Updated over 2 weeks ago

The settings for a specific team (not to be confused with Team Forms settings) allow you to manage aspects such as your team's subscription, user roles, and local storage. These settings apply exclusively to the team and may be accessed differently depending on whether you are using Team Forms as a channel tab or via the web/personal app. This guide will outline the steps to access your team settings.

If you’re having trouble finding the team settings, it’s probably because the steps you’re following are for the web or personal app, but you’re accessing team forms as a channel app (or vice versa).

Accessing Team Settings via a Channel Tab

  1. Open Microsoft Teams and navigate to the relevant channel tab where you normally access them form.

  2. When the tab is open you will see a down arrow next to the tab name (usually Team Forms). Click this allow to show a menu.

  3. Locate and click the Settings option within the menu. This will launch the teams settings dialogue.

  4. Adjust the team-specific settings as needed, including subscription management, user roles, and local storage.

Accessing Team Settings via the Web/Personal App

  1. Open Team Forms in your web browser or personal app.

  2. In the sidebar displaying your various teams, hover over the team you want to manage to reveal the "..." icon.

  3. Click the "..." icon to open the context menu. Select the Team Settings option to open the settings dialog.

  4. Modify team-specific settings as needed.
